Hummingbirds

For many, this was the first time to paint with acrylic on canvas. With a vivid ground of color and an overlay of gold glaze, our paintings took life to host our delicate hummingbirds. We learned that the Mellisuga heleanae, the smallest hummingbird in the world, weighs two grams, less that the weight of a penny.
